In addition to being a key part of the Professional Services management team, Matt is a strong and credible senior consultant, excelling in pre-sales and early stage engagements, he is currently Head of Information Worker Solutions, responsible for all of Trinity’s Professional Services activities in the Information Worker and Business Productivity solution space.

Matt specialises in Information Worker/Business Productivity solutions, focussed on the Microsoft stack, and is passionate about effective use of technology to solve business challenges and the deliver tangible benefits, with a particular interest in the impact and adoption of social media within the enterprise.

Matt is recognised in the industry as a leader in his field and is frequently invited to speak at conferences and sit on expert panels, he has also been appointed a v-TSP (Virtual Technology Solutions Professional) by Microsoft, aligned to Business Productivity.

Over the last seven years Matt has grown Trinity’s SharePoint sales from £2m to over £7m, and grown the dedicated delivery team under his direct management from 5 to 19 heads.

Professional Experience


Head of Information Worker Solutions, 2010 – Present, Trinity (Trinity


Responsible for the technical strategy of Trinity’s service offerings and delivery standards in the field of Information Worker Solutions, also responsible for the ongoing professional development and competence of the team, and for the sales and marketing positioning and collateral for IW/BP solutions at Trinity. Matt works closely with the Sales & Marketing Director in defining service offerings and in S&M activities.
Responsibilities include:
  • Professional Services standards and processes
  • Department strategy, competence and operational excellence
  • Leadership and management
  • Pre-sales and marketing activities (including presenting at industry events)
  • High end consulting (clients include: Skills Funding Agency, RFU, Phoenix Group, Guardian Financial Services, London 2012)

During this time period Matt also covered prolonged absence periods for the Head of Delivery (responsible for Projects) and Head of Professional Services (responsible for the entirety of Trinity professional Services).

Selected as a v-TSP (Virtual Technology Solutions Professional) aligned to Business Productivity, this role involves supporting Microsoft in technical pre-sales, communicating the value of Microsoft Solutions to customers and to provide architectural guidance for Enterprise Integration solutions, and includes delivering presentations, product demonstrations and EBC sessions covering the BP and IW stacks (primarily SharePoint, Lync and Office365).

Delivery of senior level consultancy to Trinity clients on technology solutions and adoption. Heavily involved in pre-sales, marketing and business development activities.

SharePoint Practice Lead, 2006 – 2008, Trinity

Responsible for the technical competence of the small team delivering SharePoint solutions while also providing client consultancy and operating as a Technical Architect on project teams. Clients/projects included:

  • 3i – SharePoint Intranet and BCP/DR process
  • Eversheds – SharePoint Extranet solution
  • DLA Piper – SharePoint deployment and legacy intranet migration 
  • O2 – Legal Dept. Matter Management solution (SharePoint) and Intranet pilot

Technical Consultant, 2005 – 2006, Trinity

Primarily working as part of a project team delivering solutions to clients, but also providing ad-hoc consultancy and advice/guidance services. A deeply technical role that Matt excelled in, covering a breadth of Microsoft technologies (including several deliveries during early beta programmes) and multiple vertical sectors.

During this period Matt also delivered several engagements on behalf of Microsoft Consulting Services, some of these were for the Ministry of Defence and as such required Security Clearance, these included:

  • MOD/Qinetiq – CWID - A large interoperability exercise involving the MOD (and international counterparts) to investigate the operational use of emerging technologies (several were in beta). 
  • MOD – Federated identity and single-sign-on POC
  • HP – Blue Light Services federated shared service platform

IT Manager, 2001 – 2004, Magnetic North Software Ltd (www.magneticnorth.com)

Responsible for management of the entire infrastructure for both Magnetic North and other companies within the Mirage Technology Holdings Group (Total of 50 users, 20 servers and 5 telephone switches, across 4 sites). Also responsible for managing a small team of customer support engineers. Prior to promotion in August 2002, employed as the Installation Engineer, responsible for the installation of Magnetic North products throughout Europe.
Key achievements included: Completion of Office re-location with only 10 hours service interruption and delivery of infrastructure refresh project 1 week ahead of schedule and under budget.

Technical Support, 1998 – 2001, Freeserve (DSG)

Held the position of 2nd Line Co-ordinator within Freeserve Support. Primarily responsible for evaluation and diagnosis of service outages, and managing a team of 2nd Line Technical Advisor’s.
